Joseph Warren was a hero of Bunker Hill. By dying on Bunker Hill, he was made anations sacrifice for the battle of Bunker Hill. Joseph Warren attended Harvard and taught at a Latin School. He married Elizabeth Hooten in 1764. Doctor Warren participated in his firstradical cause in 1767. He responded to a series of articles in the Boston Gazette. It made theroyal governor so mad he tried to charge Warren with libel. The grand jury threw out his charge. After responding to the articles in the newspaper Warren became popular in the radical circles. He was strong in the separatist movement because he had connections with Samuel Adams,James Otis, and Paul Revere. Warren became chairman of the Committee of Safety after theBoston Massacre happened. While Samuel Adams was away on business Warren began raising the militias of arms and powder. In 1775 Joseph Warren was appointed second in general command of the Massachusetts forces. Warren was the first to know when the British forces landed at Charlestown. Instead of taking command, Warren wanted to fight in the battle. He was instantly killed in battle but he was made a hero. King Solomon honored Warren by hanging apainting up of him. In New England every state has a town named after Warren to honor him and his bravery.
